Walk to Africa 2017

Banner blowing horn

The 9th Annual ‘Walk to Africa’ is now in our collective rear-view mirror and despite the rain-laden clouds that hung over Santa Monica Crescent Bay Park that Saturday, we had an excellent day! From our first Walk to Africa organizational meeting, my stated goal for this years’s ‘Walk’ was to increase the number of people at the event.  I am pleased to report that this year we had the greatest participation ever!  Thank God for victory!  For all who made the effort to get up early on a Saturday morning, bundle up the kids and come to the event, THANK YOU!!  THANK YOU!!  My heart is filled with gratefulness and gratitude for your sacrifice.

I am thankful for the many volunteers who gave up a Saturday morning to serve others. We had over 130 volunteers who were essential in making the ‘Walk’ a success.

We now have adequate funding to carry Lighthouse Medical Missions through the next two teams…a team to Guatemala in early September 2017 and another team to The Gambia in February 2018. Whether WTA 2017 was your first event or your ninth, it’s partnering with people like you who care, that makes the difference.
