On each overseas trip, Lighthouse Medical Missions bases their team(s) at the home of a local African church. This provides a building, water, safety, interpreters, crowd control and helps to spread the word that we are coming. It’s a win win situation for everyone. As the people come to our clinics, here and elsewhere in Africa, they see the work that the local pastor is doing and the difference the church community makes in the life of its members. The members are more well fed, the children are cared for properly, and marriages are encouraged along with monogamy. The congregations grow as new members now have hope and a future too.
Doctors, nurses, a nurse practioner, chiropractor and physicians assistant worked hard for 5 days in Mwanza, Tanzania. An estimated 1500+ patients were seen, treated and given free medical care and medicines thanks Lighthouse Medical Missions. The people of Mwanza were amazing to work with, both as patients, and as assistants working with us. They are such a strong community and we have no doubt they will continue to thrive as God works his wonders through them. We are already excited for the next chapter in the Lighthouse Medical Missions, and are returning the Mwanza in 2016 for another life-changing journey.
